Midterm

Getting into college is not easy. Anyone who has ever applied for admission to a selective college or who has been interviewed for a high desired job really knows the feeling of waiting impatiently to learn to the result of one's application. I person you know exactly how those people feel. It's not really hard to identify those applicants to some of the nation's most prestigious MBA programs who thought they had a chance to get an early glimpse of leave there ambition was to be fulfilled. There has been some instances where some kids we cheat to get into college. I was looking at getting into Community College. I was even looking enough to get into CSU. I flunked out of CSU because bad teachers and it was too expensive. There's some kids who would do something stupid like mention that they are able to cheat to get into school. Some kids will even go so far as and exploit special needs students and do criminal thing to get into college. College it can be a waste of time and a blessing. Sometimes college can help you get a job, some jobs don't even need a college education. The more education you have more, the likely to get a good job sometimes. Some students found instructions posted on a website by an anonymous hacker, explaining how to find out what admission decision the business schools had made in their case. When I get the fact that college is hard to get into, but college is harder to stay in. I am trying my hardest to get good grades in Tri-C. It was more difficult when I was in CSU. The universities such as Harvard, Dartmouth, Duke, Carnegie Mellon, and Stanford had used the same application software from Apply Yourself, Incorporated. All the students had to do was change the very end of the application and you are led  supposedly restricted page containing the verdict of once application. In the 9 hours it took what the programmer to patch the security fall after it was posted, curiosity got the better of about 200 applicants, who couldn't resist the temptation to discover whether they had been admitted. When I get kids, I will never ever encourage them to do this. This is not fair for the kids who had worked hard and got into college. Those kids who are hacking into Harvard we're practically cheating their way into college. Other ways to get into college oh, and this is not one of them. To be honest, they could have gone to online college or to a community college. You just need to right grade point average for Community College, otherwise it's not too hard. According to this case study, sometimes applicants got only got blank screens. But the others had to learn the hard way that they had been tentatively accepted or tentatively rejected. But what they didn't count on were two things; first, that it wouldn't take the Business schools long to learn what had happened and who had done it and, second, that the schools in  questions were going to be very unhappy about it. Of course this it's like social media, if you like something, it shows who likes it. Of course can be Clark, the dean of the business school, said that this behavior is unethical at best, a serious breach of trust cannot be countered by  rationalization. Now, Steve Nelson, the executive director of Harvard MBA program, stated that hacking into a system and this manner is unethical and also contrary to the behavior we expect of leaders we are smart to develop. It really didn't take Harvard long to make up his mind what to do about it. However, it rejected 119 applicants attempted to access the information. I really can't blame them, hacking is actually a wrong and illegal thing to do, and is kind of cheating. if you didn't get into a college you didn't get into a college is not the end of the world. Carnegie Mellon and MIT quickly follow suit. By rejected the ethical link challenge or should I say the hackers/cheaters,  the schools are trying to send a message to society as a whole that  they are attempting to produce people that when they go out into the world, and they had to behave ethically. Those who have hacked into the website have failed to pass the test. The test I'm talking about is a strong moral compass, sound judgment, and high standards of integrity. Meanwhile Duke and Dartmouth, where only a handful of students gain access to the file said they would take a case-by-case approach and didn't publicly announce their individualized determinations. Jim insert the competition for places in their MBA programs, it's safe to say that the view, offending applicants were sitting in classrooms the following semester. Forty-two applicants attempted to learn the results early and Stanford, which it took a different tack. of course Stanford invited the accused hackers to explain themselves in writing. Which is kind of harsh and embarrassing oh, I would just opted to just leave the college and never look back. According to Stanford, students who gain unauthorized access to the website was able to explain his or her actions to their satisfaction. The dean hope they had learned from their experience. Business schools try to teach their students about making good decisions and take responsibility for your own actions. Due to the Public's concern over the wave of corporate scandals in the recent years and is growing interest in corporate social responsibility, this is prayers and other media commenters  had welcomed Harvard's decisive response. Soon there was some sniping at the station 5,000 claiming to Harvard and the other business schools had overreacted. I really don't think they overreacted in my personal opinion.Nowadays schools don't really honest back kids. 70% of MBA students approve of the decision, the undergrad students newspaper oh, the cruising was skeptical. Some critics pointed out that Harvard tend to overlook the possibility that the hacker might have been a spouse or parent who had access to the applicants password and personal identification number. That is true there is some parents and spouses who unintentionally wreck your chances of going to school. I watch a lot of judge shows where there's parents who take bribes when their kids are trying to go to a college due to a athletic scholarship. One of the  applicants said that this happened to him. His wife had  found the instructions at Businessweek online and tried to check on the success of his application. He was distraught over that and said his wife was pulling her hair out. Of course I Harvard's Dean the said that they expected applicants to be personally responsible for the access to the website, and for the identification and passwords they receive. Only the student should have access to  their passwords and identification. What his wife did was irresponsible and stupid. I hope she realizes she just wrecked her husband's chance of going to a good college. I get that you're nervous and you're filled with anxiety but that was not a way did she even realize that that was cheating you can't hack into stuff and it's illegal to hack. I hope she didn't go to jail due to such stupidity to do this.

Poverty and Pollution

We know it is Brazil's “Valley of Death”, and it may be the most polluted place on Earth. It is about an hours drive south of Sao Paulo, where the land only drives 2,000 feet to a coastal plain. More than 100,000 people live in the valley, along with a whole lot of industrial plants that this charged thousands of tons of pollutants into the air every day. A reporter from National Geographic had recalled that wasn't an hour of his arrival in the valley, his chest begins aching as the polluted air inflamed his bronchial tubes and restrict his breathing. The air in the Valley of the death is that it with toxins, among the Benzene, a known carcinogen. 1 and 10 of the areas Factory workers have a low white blood cell count, a possible cause of leukemia. the infant mortality rate is 10% higher here than in the region as a whole. Of the 40,000 Urban residents in the valley, nearly 13,000 suffer from respiratory disease. Few of the natives complain.  It is unfortunate that natives are pretty much stuck in a horrible disgusting place which reminds me of the TV show The Oblongs. Unfortunately the feeling smell of jobs, they can’t really buy their property from local industry, which wants to expand as well as government efforts to relocate them to free home size in a landfill. Parents want to go somewhere safe, but they can't afford to. It is kind of sad really oh, you want the best for your family but you can't afford it. Maybe one day the poor to pay the price of pollution, but there are those who believe that they should have more of it. The cost of health and peering pollution depend on the earnings forgone from increase injury and death. The political is supposed to be done in the countries with the lowest cost oh, that is what the lowest wages.  Because pollution caused the rise disproportionately as pollution increases, it makes sense to shift the problem from an already dirty place such as Los Angeles to clean ones like the relatively underpopulated countries like Africa, whose air is fastly described as under polluted. People who value a clean and more as their incomes rise, if other things are equal, the cost will fall if pollution moves from affluent places to less affluent places. Unfortunately, the experts aren't really helping the situation, they seem like they're making it worse. Locals want to do something about it but they can't because of the cost and is one of the reasons why I say that America is a five-star hotel compared to most countries. So that companies are purposely getting these poor people sick oh, and keeping the wealthier the place is clean. I shouldn't say wealthier, I mean those with a little more money. Critics say that the experts view the world through the distorting prism of the market economics which is the recipe for ruin, the expert is Lawrence Summers, and forward director of the National Economic Council and a past president of Harvard University. So he's pretty much a pompous jerk who cares more about money than the welfare of the people. I wish I could help them but I don't have the funds right now. My bank account as fast as I can blink. I have a part-time job where I work from home which doesn't make much considering the fact that make videos for a living. Top of all that, I live in a state where not much is going on. My videos need excitement in though of course, I made over 600 videos in the past year. Not an easy thing to do because 1 there's video creators who are much more talented than I am, and I have self-depreciating humor. Now back to the topic, Summers’ assumption that the value of life can be measured in terms of per capita income. He's basically saying that money is more important than a human's life. We live in a society where people care more about an animal than a baby's life. They're all sad about Harambe but they're not worried about a young child's life when he's in an animal cage, should I say a wild animal cage. I bet every dollar I have my bank account that people would rather save a dog to save me. We live in a society for 50 cops will be looking for a white girl, but let me go missing and I'll be lucky to get 4 cops looking for me. We live in a society that cares more about money than they do about people. We live in a society where looks are more important personality. We live in a society where cheating is okay to do to your partner. We live in a society where you can blame your partner for your cheating instead of taking responsibility for your own actions. We live in a society where the week is being taken advantage of by the rich. I live in a society at my job where video creators who used to be humble become snotty jerks when they get a little money. It happens all the time. You are lucky to find a video creator that's humble who knows where they came from. He is lucky to find a video creator who doesn't act like a snotty stuck-up celebrity because they're internet-famous. We live in a society where when you get a little money people start to forget who was really by their side and start going for suck-ups. I seen this on the hit TV show Empire, couple of characters exhibited this Behavior. There are some  economists who believe that Summers ideas are basically on the right track. Of course Summers’ is ideas and plans that in America's Life As far as that of 100 Kenyans and a society should value an essay year of my life for a middle-level manager more than it values and an extra year for a blue-collar production line worker. More about the boss more than the employee who bust their behinds off making the manager happy and the business running. The economists  and there we and benefits. The main cause of misery in the third world is poverty, which is very very true. If we can control slow growth and the environment, then fewer people will be lifted out of poverty by Economic Development. The economists argue that the Richer country should not impose their standards of Environmental Protection on poor Nations. They're basically saying that a poor country shouldn't be forced to do anything because they can't really afford it, if they could afford it they wouldn't be in poverty. Even if the economic growth is the cure for poverty other economists now believe that sound Environmental Policy it's necessary for durable growth, or at least that growth and Environmental Protection may not be the best choice for it is not compatible. environmental damage can undermine economic productivity oh, and the health effects of pollution on a country's workforce reduce output. Poverty alone is an important cause of environmental damage because people living at subsistence levels are unable to invest in Environmental Protection. If economic growth and development, then and hands Environmental Quality is part and parcel of the environment and Welfare that development must bring. If 1 billion people in third world countries like access to clean water while what billion suffer from inadequate Sanitation, economic development for them means improving. So they're basically screwed. I kind of get what they're saying says I'm a broke college student don't make enough money to buy decent clothes, I paid 40 something dollars for a dress for my cousin's wedding. I had to pay 40 something dollars to get my hair done for that wedding. So I have to spend money I don't have and wait for my refund check for school because I'm pretty much struggling right now. I am on financial aid and financial aid is paying for my education right now. I have hair stylist who think I'm rich, which is why I haven't gotten my hair done and couple weeks since my cousin's wedding. I was once homeless and a brief. With my family ugly my dad had a stable job at the time he still does now. we had to stay at his brother-in-law's house and a hotel and this disgusting house for  a little while because our house burned down. Where was my mother oh, well she passed due to breast cancer. Rich and poor countries tend to have different agendas, environmentalist and affluent nations were about protecting endangered species, preserving biological diversity, saving the ozone where, and preventing climate change. affluent countries are more concerned with dirty air, dirty water, soil erosion, and  deforestation. the poor country is can't really afford all the other stuff the more affluent countries have since they're more worried about resources in Sanitation the environmental stuff.  I have to worry about I'm making enough money to fill out my paycheck says I have to use  my survey money To help fill out my end paycheck from my video creator money. so my job is  pretty much screwing me over. everyday I have to find a new topic to talk about oh, and it has to be family friendly or ads won't pay me. Google takes a cut of my pay and so does my  YouTube partnership takes some of my money, so I'm basically struggling.
