On page 46 explains images of women conveys very powerful belief is about what is appropriate for girls and women. It is ironic that men think that we can automatically cook, clean, and take care of a baby.   There are a lot of women who are pretty, but can't cook and there are a lot of women who are not pretty, but can't cook. Men think that we should a supermodel that can cook, clean, and take care of the kids. What men don't realize that being a stay­at­home mom is an unpaid job. There's an article that I read about a husband telling his marriage counselor that his wife does the housework but doesn't work. His wife explained to him and the marriage counselor that she is the nurse, the maid, the teacher, and the cook; that left her husband in shock and awe. Another article I read is when a husband asks his wife what she do all day and when she didn't do it it look like her house and the kids were in a wreck. Hopefully now that that man realizes how ...

It is ironic that it is 2016 and not much has changed other than some improvements. We have a Women's Day, thankfully. The subordination of women is deeply imbedded in social institutions such as the legal system, the workplace, the family, and religion. We have to fight for reproductive rights and it’s our own bodies . Some educational institutions encourage girls and women to pursue occupations in  traditionally female areas rather than traditionally male areas.  Unfortunately, women studies have not been integrated into mainstream education. Now women's studies has become part of the  Academy that offers majors,  minors, master degrees and doctorates . We women have bad reputations regardless of race. My African-American sisters  are stereotyped as domineering head strong women, Jewish women are depicted as status-obsessed princesses, Asian and Latina women are depicted as docile , mysterious , and  exotic.
